According to Gartner, Huawei smartphone sales grew by a massive 38.6 percent in the second quarter of 2018. It is due to Huawei's resilience in bringing innovative features to its smartphones and their push to expand their portfolio to cover larger consumer segments.
The Huawei P20 Pro with triple Leica cameras is the star of Huawei's evergrowing smartphone portfolio right now.
Honor, the sub-brand of Huawei is also a factor to this success. Huawei is currently shipping Honor branded smartphones to 70 markets globally.
Samsung is still the leader. But, they have a HUGE decline of 12.7 percent. The reason behind this is the slowing demand for its flagship smartphones. Samsung is also facing fierce competition from Chinese manufacturers.
Samsung now expects the Galaxy Note9 to revive its growth.
The rest of the top brands include Xiaomi at number 4 and OPPO at number 5. It is not in the graph, but most likely, Vivo is at number 6.
