IFA 2018: LG releases the first 88-inch 8K OLED TV
At the IFA 2018, LG Electronics introduced the world's first 8K OLED TV. It features MASSIVE 88-inch panel with 7680 x 4320 resolution.

According to LG, it features over 33 million self-emitting pixels to produce the "unmatched" contrast ratio and true blacks. LG also stated that it is the "next-generation display technology" because it emits its own light to eliminate the need of backlighting.

LG is also looking to be one of the first to mass produce TVs of such caliber. They claimed that this type of TV will redefine both picture quality and product design.
LG's first 8K OLED TV is the pinnacle of technological achievement and the next evolutionary step in display technology said Brian Kwon, president of LG Home Entertainment Company. 4K OLED played a major role in reshaping TV industry and LG is confident that 8K OLED will do the same.
LG admitted that the 8K TV market is still in its infancy, but it is expected to grow to more than 5 million units by 2022.
There's no word yet regarding its price. Don't expect this TV to be cheap.
