Moto loaded the E5 Plus with most of the essentials you'll need for your new phone. It include the 5.2V/2A fast charging USB wall charger, USB Type-A to micro USB data/charging cable, earbuds with microphones and single button control, clear TPU case, screen protector, and SIM ejector tool.
It also has the usual paper docs like the "read me" manual and legal documents.

The materials used by Moto on the E5 Plus are interesting. The frame is made out of plastic with curvy and glossy finish.
At the back, it has an arching acrylic glass-like cover. The good thing about it is it really feels like glass even if it is plastic. It made the device more premium looking overall.
In front, it has a 2.5D curved 5.99-inch 18:9 IPS display with an unspecified version of Corning's Gorilla Glass protection.
The construction of this handset feels good overall. But both glass and glass-like plastic materials could break when dropped.
USE the FREE clear TPU case in the package to be sure.

Checking its design, the E5 Plus is one of the most stylish phones under PHP 10K. The glossy glass back with reflective wave pattern is simply stunning.
It is also one of the curviest around. The glass at the back reminds me of the 3D glass design of the higher-end Nova 3. Motorola also retained their unique clock-like camera design behind. It is found on the top of the fingerprint scanner.
The phone is a just a bit thick due to its massive 5,000mAh battery. But, it is still not as thick as other phones with big battery capacity. It just 9.35 mm thick.
In front, the phone has the usual taller 18:9 screen aspect ratio. The side bezels are slim and the top bezel is far from thick. But, the chin bezel is a bit thicker than what we wanted.
The bottom bezel of its competitors, the OPPO A83 and Huawei Nova 2 lite are slimmer. It is just my minor gripe though.
On the top, you will find the 3.5 mm headphone jack and the microphone. We like that it has a single front-firing speaker too. It is located on the earpiece of the phone in the middle of the front camera and selfie flash.
Below, there's the micro USB port. The triple slot tray for the microSD and dual nano SIMs is found on the left side of the phone. At right, the power button and volume rocker is there.
The phone feels good to hold overall. It has good heft at 197 grams too.
1. The Moto E5 Plus feels solid. It is a beautiful budget phone. It has a big 5.99-inch display too. The resolution is just HD+ though. Fortunately, it can produce good looking colors. It is quite bright as well.
2. Inside, this handset runs with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor with Adreno 505 GPU. It is still a decent chipset. But, it is quite old already.
There are other under PHP 10K phones that runs with the faster Helio P23, Helio P22, Snapdragon 450, and even Snapdragon 636 under PHP 10K.
Moto added 3GB RAM and 32GB of expandable ROM as well. The highlight? It has a MASSIVE 5,000mAh of battery capacity. Only the ZenFone Max Pro M1 can match its battery size.
According to Moto, it can last for up to 1.5 days of usage on a single charge. It also has a 2A charger.
We will test that out.
3. The Moto E5 Plus runs with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. It is near stock in appearance. We like the Moto retained their circular clock widget which looks cool. The circular clock will appear from time to time even if your lock your phone. It has no bloats as well.
4. This handset has a 12MP f/2.0 single camera behind. It is paired with laser AF, PDAF, and LED flash. It is one of the cheapest with both laser AF and PDAF focus. The result? The focus speed of the camera of this device is quite fast.
For selfies, there's a 5MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. The output we got is a bit yellowish.
5. It has no LED light indicator and gyroscope sensor. 4G LTE works and it has OTG connectivity. The fingerprint scanner is quite fast. It has face unlock too. But, it isn't as instantaneous as other phones with face unlock.
